!!! Unfortunately this event has had to be POSTPONED due to a last minute rehearsal call for the Royal Ballet’s new ballet ‘Like Water for Chocolate’.  We apologise for any inconvenience caused and  Mayara has promised us a new date as soon as possible.

Brazilian born dancer Mayara Magri won a scholarship aged 8 to train at the Petite Danse School in Rio de Janeiro.  She joined the Royal Ballet School in 2011, having won a Prix De Lausanne scholarship and the Audience Favourite prize.   

She joined the RB company in 2012 and has been a principal of the Royal Ballet since 2021.  She has danced numerous lead roles including Kitri and Mercedes (Don Quixote), Gamzatti (La Bayadere), Swanhilda (Coppelia), Myrthe (Giselle), Sugra Plum Fairy and Rose Fairy (Nutcracker), Gypsy Girl (Two Pigeons) and is regularly cast in lead roles in new and contemporary works.

This season her debuts so far include Juliet and Odette/Odile, lead in Mats Ek's 'Woman with Water' and principal in Wheeldon's DGV.

Ballet writer Deborah Weiss will be in the interviewer’s chair.
