We are in need of a volunteer to take on the role of membership secretary.

The LBC currently has over 550 members in the UK and abroad. This has grown substantially since COVID due to Zoom interviews broadening our reach beyond London.  Membership is recorded in an online database that is connected to our website, so that members can book events online.

Please note: there will be a handover from the current membership secretary who has also produced detailed notes on each task.

The Role

  • Handling manual membership applications, renewals and cancellations and updating the database to reflect these
  • Monitoring membership on the database for lapsed members and prompting them
  • Monitoring database for glitches in membership applications and payments
  • Handling manual payments by cheque
  • Liaising with treasurer on issues
  • Reporting to Trustees on membership status and issues
  • Liaising with existing and potential members on membership queries

Your Skills

  • Excellent personal skills, especially when welcoming new members, plus patience and kindness in dealing with members’ queries
  • Good communication skills
  • Computer literate and willingness to learn how to use our database  

Mandatory

  • Aged 18 or over
  • Live in the UK
  • Willing to be a Member of the LBC
  • Willing to become a Trustee of the LBC
