How we spend the money we raise

Students at Elmhurst, English National, Tring, Central, Ballet Cymru, and Yorkshire Ballet Summer Seminars are among those who have benefited from our sponsorship.

In place of the normal scholarships, the 2020 Yorkshire Ballet Summer Seminar was awarded a grant to support its operations.

The Ballet Cymru Summer School was also awarded a grant to help it operate virtually. 

The London Ballet Circle Dame Ninette de Valois Awards for 2020 went jointly to the leading male and female graduates of The Royal Ballet School. The recipients, Daichi Ikarashi  from Japan and Hanna Park from South Korea, are now Aud Jebsen Young Dancers with The Royal Ballet.

The 2020 Sir Peter Wright Prize for a graduate student at Elmhurst Ballet School was awarded to Jennifer Beattie.

In addition, we made donations to six dance organisations which were also designed to support the development of young dancers and community/school outreach activity.

As we are a small charity, we are unfortunately unable to accept individual applications for grants. However, we are actively discussing how we can broaden our reach and assist students who may not already be studying full-time, but who meet the entry criteria, to attend one of the growing range of Summer Schools.
