We are delighted to present our Grad Pro International Showcase 2024, again most generously supported by Gail Monahan, London Ballet Circle, the Lees Family Foundation, Freed of London and Dansez.
This international showcase to be held in the Elmhurst Theatre in Birmingham on Sunday May 19th is the culmination of an ongoing project to help Vocational Graduates by providing performance opportunities, mentoring, financial support and valuable company experience.
Over 60 students entered this year including Graduates from Canada, America and Europe who performed in four regional events.
Fourteen dancers have been selected to go through to the final and are now working alongside our amazing artistic coaches and mentors: Ivan Putrov, Dominic North, Bethany Kingsley-Garner, Cira Robinson, Isabella Gasparini, Ashley Dixon, Daria Stanciulescu.
They will have a rare opportunity to dance in front of a prestigious panel of guests, judges and Company Directors from leading dance companies across the UK and Europe. This year’s judges are: Cynthia Harvey, Mark Baldwin, Mthuthuzeli November, Sir David Bintley, Gail Monaghan, Zenaida Yanowsky.
As well as financial bursaries, this year we have the opportunities to award week long placements at Royal Ballet, Birmingham Royal Ballet, Ballett Zurich, New Adventures and Northern Ballet. Our Wix Choreography Award winner, Ariel Hardy will also have the opportunity to be part of the production team for the London Children's Ballet production of The Secret Garden at Sadler's Wells in July.
It is their next step and time to shine!
We are also delighted to present guest dancers, Sophie McGary, who received the highest score of 100% in her contemporary solo at the British Grand Prix final in Dundee and Michael Maple, London Ballet Circle award winner of Grad Pro 2023, who will perform whilst the judges deliberate. Ariel will also perform her winning choreography.
