Scottish Ballet Principal, Constance Devernay-Laurence, will be ‘in conversation’ shortly after performing Coppélia at Sadler’s Wells

Born in Amiens, France, from a young age Constance fell in love with the world of dance, performance, and fitness. Her wish and determination to become a professional ballerina led her to train pre-professionally at the Rosella Hightower school in Cannes, and then at the English National Ballet School, in London.
Constance joined Scottish Ballet permanently in 2009, was promoted to Soloist in 2014 and became a Principal dancer in 2016. Some of her career highlights include: Odette/Odile, Swan Lake (David Dawson), Mary Vetsera, The Scandal at Mayerling (MacMillan), Swanilda, Coppélia (Jess & Morgs), Abigail, The Crucible (Helen Pickett), The Sugar Plum fairy in The Nutcracker (Peter Darrell), Cinderella and The Snow Queen (Christopher Hampson).
She has been practising Yoga alongside her career and passed her Yoga Level 3 instructor diploma in 2018.
Constance recently graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Sport, Fitness and Coaching and teaches all-level ballet classes and workshops.
More recently, Constance is directing Ballet Grand Prix, a ballet competition which takes place in Dundee and supports the further training of young dancers and offers them a platform to learn and perform.
As a passionate stage performer, Constance is always seeking to inspire her audience and the next generation of dancers, both on and off stage.
