Opening Reception of THE FONTEYN Competition … (Ballot for members only)
Invitation for 4 members to join the welcome reception, attended by candidates and guests, and staff of the competition. Entry is by free draw.

The LBC are delighted to offer a treat to 4 members only to join the opening reception of the THE MARGOT FONTEYN International Ballet Competition, which is the RAD’s flagship competition, previously known as The Adeline Genée.
The Welcome Reception is taking place at the RAD headquarters on Saturday 21st October 2023 from 17.00-18.30.
VENUE: RAD Headquarters, 188 York Road, London SW11 3JZ
From the RAD: The Welcome Reception is the first time all candidates come together to meet each other and the Faculty that they will be working with this year. Candidates are able to bring one guest with them. The dress code is smart/casual.
The Welcome Reception is invitation only, so the attendees will be the candidates, their guests, and the staff working on The Fonteyn (including Producer, coaches, pianists etc).
TO APPLY: Places will be allocated by a random free draw. To enter the draw, please send an email to [email protected] with your full name, email address and contact number by MIDNIGHT on Sunday 17 September 2023.
The draw of the 4 places, plus a few reserves will take place on Tuesday 19 September. You will be notified that same day if you are a winner or a reserve. If you haven’t had a reply by the morning of 20 September then you should assume that have not been successful this time.
As a courtesy to all, we kindly request that you do not apply to enter the draw, until you are sure that you are free. Also, if you do enter, please keep the date free until the draw is complete.

THE FONTEYN
“This October, the RAD’s flagship competition returns to the UK for the first time in eight years. Formerly known as the Genée, the renamed Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition is a truly global event, providing candidates with a unique opportunity to train with world-class teachers and choreographers. Over nine days, London will play host to remarkable performances from some of the finest young dancers in the world today.”
The final is on Sunday 29 October 2023 at 7pm at His Majesty’s Theatre, Haymarket.
Semi-finals are held during the day on 25-27 October 2023 at RAD headquarters. There is a discounted option to buy a ticket for all 3 days, else individually.
