Northern Ballet’s Jane Eyre

May 13th

Nominated for the South Bank Arts Dance Award in 2017, Northern Ballet’s production of Jane Eyre may have been familiar to some. On a return visit to Sadler’s Wells, LBC was part of an audience - also including London Vocational School and Central School - invited to watch a technical rehearsal prior to the opening that night. Company Director, Federico Bonelli, in his mellifluous Italian tones, welcomed us all and introduced us to the afternoon. The run through lasted for approximately 2 hours with few hitches. Out of costume, the characters came to life through the poetic storytelling for which Northern Ballet is noted. Choreographed by Cathy Marston and with music by Philip Feeney, here performed live, this adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s Jane Eyre has become a modern classic.

Some tickets are still available for performances which run in London until the end of this week. We shall look forward to Northern’s much anticipated World Première of Gentleman Jack next year.

Following this event a donation of £820 to Northern Ballet was sent. Thank you for your support.
