Starting at Covent Garden, where Henry Higgins first encountered Eliza Doolittle, and ending at The Coliseum, where My Fair Lady is currently playing, the members of the LBC enjoyed a walking tour of London's fascinating theatreland.

Blue Badge Guide and LBC member, Gavin Webb, regaled us with fascinating facts about the history of the theatres, legendary actors, actresses and impressarios and the theatrical origins of many of the phrases we use today.  Along the way, we visited the Royal Opera House, paid our respects at Dame Margot Fonteyn's flat on Long Acre, paused by the ballerina statue across from the Opera House and thought about the students crossing The Bridge of Aspirations from the Royal Ballet School.  So much to take in and all of it worth remembering!

A very warm round of applause and a chorus of "thank yous" were offered to Gavin for treating us to such an informative, enlightening and fun tour of London's vibrant Theatreland.
