The London Ballet Circle was pleased to host Daria Klimentova, former Lead Principal at English National Ballet (ENB) and internationally renowned ballet teacher, in conversation with London Ballet Circle Trustee, Fiona Erleigh.

The conversation mapped Daria's distinguished career, from dancing with the Czech National Ballet, through various international engagements, to her long and successful period at ENB. She shared insights about the significance of partnerships in ballet, recounting experiences of her notable partnerships with Vadim Muntagirov and Friedemann Vogel. She also reflected on her experiences working with various choreographers and the creative process of developing new roles.

Since retiring, Daria has transitioned to teaching, first at the Royal Ballet School, and then in an independent capacity. She shared the challenges and rewards of this shift, and discussed her teaching philosophy, with an emphasis on the emotion of dance. She also talked her current role, coaching Scottish Ballet for Cinderella.

The London Ballet Circle are grateful to Daria for sharing her experiences with us - it was a truly insightful and interesting talk.
