The LBC has been very fortunate over the past year insofar as a number of Members have come forward to offer active support.  But, now that we are resuming ‘in person’ events and with the next AGM not far off, it is timely to put out another call for assistance.

The LBC is run on an entirely voluntary basis, so the Trustees, along with a few other helpers, are also the ‘staff’.  Trustees contribute according to their particular expertise and availability (half are in full-time employment) and it is this combined level of input from many people which enables the LBC to continue to deliver its programme and support students and dance organisations. So, as ever, what is most needed is for more Members to come forward.

Susan Dalgetty Ezra, our Chair, has written to everyone who joined during the last year to see whether they would feel able to volunteer, and information about becoming a Trustee will again issue with the papers for the AGM. Susan is always available to talk to anyone who is interested in a deeper involvement and she can be reached via [email protected] or on (M) 07415410913.

For some of the areas of responsibility – the administration of events, including bookings; the Newsletter; and the website - it is virtually essential to be a Trustee but others, such as taking turns to write reports on talks, can be, and are, done independently from the Committee. So if there is anyone who feels able to be a reporter, do please let Susan know. You would be joining a team of four people who take it in turns to write up the ‘talks’ for early publication on the website and in a supplement to a later Newsletter.
